The McAuley Catholic High School, Doncaster is celebrating after a member of their staff won an important award.  Rebecca Quigley was identified as the Rex Walford Young Geography Teacher of the year.  This is a very prestigious accolade that involved Miss Quigley preparing and submitting a sequence of lessons to be used to teach students nationwide on a theme considering ‘How Geography could help you’.

Miss Quigley is now a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, joining an illustrious list of geographers.

A representative of McAuley School said, “As a geography department and a whole school community we are very proud of her excellent achievement.  We hope this will inspire our budding student geographers to participate in the 2015 ‘Young Geographer of the Year’ competition.”
