Plans for Caritas on Track

Stuart Hanlon, Hallam Caring Services, wishes to thank all Parish Priests and the Parish Administrators for completing the Caritas questionnaires.

“The Hallam response was 100%, not replicated in other Dioceses, I am told,” said Stuart.  It is hoped that sometime in the New Year there will be a celebration for all the social action in the Diocese hosted by Bishop Ralph.  The Caritas Network will be launched at the same time – more details later.

Visit to the House of Commons

Bernie Ware and Laura Rendell from Hallam Caring Services were invited to a Parliamentary reception in the House of Commons on 25 October, where the Jo Cox Campaign for loneliness was discussed.

Chairing the day was Phil McCarthy, Caritas Social Action Network, and Cardinal Vincent Nichols was also in attendance.

Phil spoke of the wonderful contribution that volunteers bring to the social action groups that exist within each of the Dioceses and he gave a special mention to those at Carmel Care in Sheffield for their hard work and dedication.
