Grant Award for St Wilfrid’s
St Wilfrid’s Centre for the homeless and vulnerable people in Sheffield was recently delighted to receive a grant award from The Plater Trust. The award was to be presented at the Cardinal Hume Centre London by the new Cardinal Vincent Nichols, but unfortunately he was called to Rome at short notice. The able deputy for the day was Archbishop George Stack who thanked all the charities involved, and is seen here with team St Wilf’s at the recent presentation ceremony, from left to right Simrin Choudhrie, St Wilfrid’s patron, Helen Lowry, Director’s PA, Kevin Bradley, Director, Archbishop George Stack and Mandi Hunt, Consultant Fundraiser.

Reality Check for TV Celebrity
Jamie Laing, star of the television reality show ‘Made in Chelsea’ recently visited Sheffield as part of the ‘Famous Rich and Hungry’ programme. Jamie came along to St Wilfrid’s and was filmed there with Mohammed who was experiencing difficult times. St Wilf’s proved to be Jamie’s favourite place on his travels. The programme was part of the recent Sports Relief charity event.

Music in the Gardens
Sheffield Rotary Clubs once again present the Music in the Gardens event held in the Sheffield Botanical Gardens. St Wilfrid’s Centre for the homeless and vulnerable in Sheffield is delighted to have been named as one of the beneficiaries this year. Director of the Centre, Kevin Bradley said, “This really is a top summer event in Sheffield and we are very grateful to the local Rotary Clubs for supporting us this year.”
St Wilfrid’s night is on Friday, 18 July when Heaven 17 is performing.
