St Mary’s Catholic High School in Chesterfield is celebrating its 150th year since its foundation in 1865. A great many celebrations are planned for this year, however the news the school received on Sunday, 23 November has simply reinforced what a special school this is.
The Sunday Times has ranked St Mary’s Catholic High School in Chesterfield as the 21st most successful comprehensive school in the country. The school was identified as the best comprehensive school in the East Midlands and 2nd best in South Yorkshire.
Mr McClafferty, the Headteacher, pictured above with members of the School Council, said, “The success of our school has been built over a great many years and this accolade is testament to the dedicated individuals who have worked and continue to work at our school.”
