December 2018 saw the 40th anniversary of the Society of St Vincent de Paul at St Mary and St Joseph’s, Worksop. Established in 1978, this conference has been working hard over the decades to fulfil the mission of the society to seek out and help those in need, and is still going strong today.
To celebrate this landmark occasion the conference organised a Mass and a party afterwards. Chief amongst those attending were Mrs Margaret Allen, who is the current conference president, and Mrs Jean Kinell, both of whom are founder members and have been active with the SVP since 1978.
The photograph above shows the proud members of the conference, with Margaret on the left and Jean in the middle holding their commemorative awards.
The conference is an integral part of the community and is looking forward to the next 40 years!
