The Festival of Art at St Joseph’s Catholic Academy, Handsworth, Sheffield celebrated all of the hard work and creativity that had been going on in school all year.  The school’s new “Creative Curriculum” has been exciting and has engaged all of the children.

The school made the decision to have a whole school arts topic, in our final term, culminating in an ambitious arts festival.  The exhibition, really did showcase beautifully all of the talent in our school. We were able to transform our school hall into an art gallery, complete with white display boards and a red carpet.  One visitor did say we would give the Tate Modern, a run for their money!

The wonderful children in Y6 were all given responsibilities from designing the posters and brochures to serving glasses of “fizz and canapés,” throughout the exhibition.

Thank you to all of our visitors who came to see our exhibition – we hope you enjoyed it.

We have some fantastic ideas to develop our curriculum further – next year is going to be a very exciting one for all of our children!
