On 5 January St Bernard’s learning community came together to celebrate the New Year and the feast of the Epiphany. Representatives from St Mary’s Maltby, St Gerard’s, St Joseph’s, St Bedes, St Mary’s, Herringthorpe and St Bernard’s gathered at the Immaculate Conception Church on Herringthorpe Valley Road.
Students from all the schools took part through the readings and singing. Fr Desmond Sexton introduced Dominic Jenkinson and explained that he had been a student at both St Bedes and St Bernard’s and is now training to be a priest in Rome. Fr Des reflected on how each of us has a unique part to play and how important it is to listen to God’s individual message to each of us.
