Master and Mistress Cutler Pay a Visit
The Master Cutler of Sheffield, Mr Tony Pedder, along with his wife Jane, the Mistress Cutler, took time out from their year in office to visit ‘beautiful downtown St Wilfrid’s’. The centre for the homeless and vulnerable in Sheffield has attracted great attention from the press recently and the Master and Mistress were no less impressed after their visit. Tony commented that “The work done here is amazing and a credit to you all” and his wife Jane was equally thrilled by the visit.
Director of St Wilfrid’s, Kevin Bradley said, “It is great for people in high office to visit St Wilf’s and I am very pleased that the word is spreading. It is clear that people now are beginning to believe that we have something very special down here.”
Guided Tour for Lord Mayor and Consort
St Wilfrid’s were very pleased to welcome the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Vickie Priestley and her Consort, Lloyd Priestley, to the Centre recently.
Having shared in the special occasion of St Wilfrid’s Christmas Party, the Lord Mayor made a special request to bring her husband, Lloyd to have a look at the Centre on a typical working day.
As arranged they came along and were given a guided tour by Director, Kevin Bradley. Lloyd, who had not seen St Wilf’s in action before, expressed amazement and delight at the extent of the Centre’s facilities as well as the friendly and peaceful atmosphere of the place. Lloyd commented, “I was bowled over by the amount of work that goes on at St Wilfrid’s and how caring the staff and volunteers are towards the clients.”
St Wilfrid’s is delighted to have been chosen as one of the Lord Mayor’s two named charities this year.
