Following last year’s hiccup the Sheffield Half Marathon was revamped for 2015. There were new organisers, a new course and a brand new wave of excitement and enthusiasm.

Fr Andrew Browne, Vicky Gould and Marie Grant had all completed the ‘Marathon that never was’ last year. They had done so in aid of St Vincent’s Furniture Store and had all agreed to take on the challenge again this year.

Unfortunately due to ill health, Vicky had to withdraw, however Fr Andrew and Marie braved the new, hilly course and both finished with very good times.

The fantastic amount of £1173 was raised in sponsorship money for the Furniture Store and this money has already gone towards buying ten single and five double beds for families in need.

The Management Committee, Staff, Volunteers and the Clients at St Vincent’s Furniture Store are indebted to Fr Andrew, Vicky and Marie and they have all promised to run again in 2016.

Fr Andrew has invited anyone who is interested in taking part in the Marathon next year to join them. If you are interested and would like to run for this very good cause please contact the Store on 0114 2703990.
