Over eighty people attended a Service of Remembrance at St Joseph and St Nicholas parish on 17 November, 2019.
Relatives of members of the parish who had died during the last three years were invited to attend and were joined by many others who had lost loved ones. Over one hundred names had been placed on the parish ‘memory tree’. Those attending were invited to light a candle as the names of loved ones were read out.
It was the first time that the parish had arranged such an event. Parish Priest, Fr Santosh Vazhappally, said, “We are delighted that so many people came to remember their loved ones. We will hold the event each year in future. Those who attended found it a very spiritual, moving event. My thanks go to Greg Ryan for the wonderful music and to Tony Brookes for organising the liturgy.”
Our photograph shows Fr Santosh and Deacon Ernesto Robertson with a few of those who attended by the ‘memory tree’.
