Operation Christmas Child – a phrase which many of us will know.

This year, the children, parents and staff have worked hard together at St Patrick’s Voluntary Academy Primary School to create and complete sixty-seven shoe boxes.

These boxes are carefully wrapped, filled with toys, school supplies and hygiene items and become literally an opportunity to show God’s unconditional love in a box, sent to children in need around the world, regardless of their background or religion.

The campaign has received a wonderful, humbling response from the children who have shown great empathy, parents and carers who have shown great generosity and from the staff who have spent a great deal of time sorting the donated gifts, shopping and organising the donations.

Headteacher, Mrs Nuala Nelis, commented, “We now have a target to work towards next year!”
