Deacon Bill Burleigh is midway through writing Part Two of his History of St Marie’s Cathedral and Parish. This volume will cover 1850 – 1950.
Deacon Bill has reached the 1920s, 1930s and the Second World War. He looking to interview anyone who has memories or pictures from these times, maybe through the stories your parents or grandparents told. Deacon Bill is happy to come and talk with you and listen to your memories. He thanks those who have already contributed and looks forward to drawing together many sets of memories to tell the story of the cathedral parish as it was back then when Catholic life in the city was so different from today.
Also, if anyone has any copies of the St Marie’s monthly parish magazine that was produced until the 1950s, he’d love to look at them. Deacon Bill is on 0114 2462367 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
