Carmel Care are pleased to launch a new initiative aimed at bringing people of all ages together for friendship and support over a midday meal. The Carmel Friendship Lunch will take place on the last Monday of each month at Carmel Care Centre, 172 Dykes Road, Sheffield, S6 4GS, starting January, 2020.
The vision is to bring together people who may be feeling lonely or isolated, to help them to make new friends over a freshly prepared lunch with some live entertainment, which will be provided by younger members of the local Catholic school community.
Sue Tym from Caritas Diocese of Hallam said, “We hope to encourage an intergenerational opportunity for friendship and support. The fantastic facilities at Carmel Care Centre are ideal for a warm welcome for anyone who would like to stay in touch with others, become more socially active and to help avoid feelings of isolation and loneliness.”
The first lunch will take place on Monday, 27 January at 12pm and the
cost is £3.50 each. Places are limited so please book in advance.
