On Sunday, 29 April, Mount St Mary’s College opened its doors to the Hallam Diocese for the Feast of Divine Mercy. We were honoured to welcome Bishop Ralph as our Chief Celebrant of Mass, with Fr Michael Beattie SJ and Deacon Neil Bailey.
The service began at 2pm with Confessions, during which time the congregation was invited to read extracts of St Faustina’s diary and to place personal intentions at the foot of the altar. The Divine Mercy Chaplet was recited at 3pm, followed by Holy Mass. Bishop Ralph blessed the Divine Mercy image and the congregation formed a procession for veneration.
Seanead O’Neill, the Lay Chaplain at Mount St Mary’s College, expressed her thanks to Bishop Ralph, Fr Michael and Deacon Neil and said, “The service was a joyful celebration of the great mercy of God. It was wonderful to be able to welcome warmly to the College so many devotees of Divine Mercy and to share the spiritual benefits of the feast day.”
