The McAuley Catholic High School in Doncaster hosted the 2013 Reunion on Friday 15 November. In excess of 150 pilgrims shared a joyful, concelebrated Mass, led by Fr Pat O’Connor, Pilgrimage Director.
Staff and students of McAuley School provided a warm welcome, with a delicious buffet, prepared by the School Cook and her team.
Fund raising events swelled the Pilgrimage Sick Fund. The Church of the Annunciation, Chesterfield, held a sponsored walk which raised a brilliant £1710, whilst the annual Lourdes Ball at St Mary’s, Rotherham raised a magnificent £3500.
Fr Pat is pictured receiving cheques from Chesterfield students, Hannah and William, and from Vera Frost, parishioner at St Mary’s.
Planning for 2014 is well under way, with the option of flying or travelling overland by coach. A coach was available at McAuley School for pilgrims to board and check out the spacious seating arrangement. Some thirty expressions of interest in coach travel made the option worth a try for 2014.
The cost for 2014 will be £675 for the flight option, or £500 to travel overnight by coach. Both prices include full board and optional travel insurance. Booking forms and posters will be available in all parishes early in the New Year.
We desperately need volunteer Nurses, Doctors, Male and Female Helpers. Please pray for those essential people to offer their services. Perhaps you are one of them?
