“Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you”.

Do you know what Corpus Christi means?  ‘Corpus’ means ‘body’, and ‘Christi’ means ‘of Christ’ in Latin, which was the language used in the Catholic Church for many years.

Corpus Christi is celebrated on the second Sunday after the feast of Pentecost and today it is called the feast of The Most Holy Body and Blood of the Lord.  This makes this Sunday Mass an extra special day for us to thank Jesus for giving himself to us in this way.

In some countries it is a holiday.  Some churches might also be celebrating it with a procession through their town centre.  What will you be doing to celebrate this very special day?
