The Ashgate Hospice is Brother President’s Charity for 2013/14 for the Chesterfield Circle of the Catenian Association. Last summer the Circle staged a benefit concert in support of the Hospice. The event took place at the Chesterfield Parish Church of St Mary and All Saints, the famous “Crooked Spire”, and featured the Holymoorside Band and the City of Sheffield Teachers’ Choir supported by talented soloists. The programme included a wide range of music and provided a most enjoyable evening of entrainment. A sum of slightly more than £1,000 was raised for the Hospice.
A cheque for the proceeds was presented to Dr Sarah Parnacott, Consultant in Palliative Care at the Hospice, at the Circle’s Christmas Ladies Night at Chesterfield Golf Club by Brother President John Dixon.
