The children of Y3 and Y4 at Holy Rood Catholic Primary School recently put on a production of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. Proceeds from the concert went to ‘Let the Children Live’, a charity that helps homeless children in Colombia.
Headteacher, John Gregson said, “Many congratulations to everyone involved with the Y3/4 production of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” which was absolutely amazing. It had so many good points that it is hard to know where to start. The acting, costumes, singing, narration, stage production were all superb and there were some children who showed prodigious talent that we never knew they had – and this in many ways is what is so good about giving children opportunities like this to really shine and discover for perhaps the first time that they really have a special gift for drama or singing. The children clearly enjoyed performing it and it has been one of the longest shows in running time school has done.
“Both children and staff have worked so hard and we really appreciate all their efforts.”
