This month our page looks at the celebration of Palm Sunday, when we remember the day Jesus arrived in Jerusalem on a donkey.

People waved palms and put them down before Jesus.  In the days of Jesus, palm leaves were a sign of homage and they were thrown before people with great respect.

However, just a few days after this triumphant day Jesus was betrayed, put on trial and sentenced to death.

St Mark’s gospel tells us the story of the arrival of Jesus into Jerusalem and the things that happened afterwards.

I wonder …

Why the people waved palms at Jesus and were so pleased to see Him?
