The Sheffield Lay Carmel annual day of recollection on Saturday, 14 October at Kirk Edge Monastery once again welcomed Fr Andrew Browne to celebrate the Mass.

His homily on St Teresa of Avila gave insights into the spirituality of Teresa.  Fr Browne pointed out that Teresa always balanced action with contemplation and that the lay Carmelite vocation as advocated by Teresa can best be described as a life lived purely out of a love for Christ.

Mass was followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.  Before Benediction Deacon Tony Strike gave a reflection on the theme of Teresina Spirituality.

The day of recollection ended all too quickly for the participants and they all left renewed in Carmel.
