Recently, the parishioners of the Mother of God Church in Sheffield enjoyed a most interesting evening with Bishop Ralph.
He was invited to join them for a pie and pea supper followed by the opportunity to share his favourite music and also his life story. During the evening he was interviewed by Vincent Green, one of the parishioners, [in the style of Kirsty Young] and revealed that he is a great fan of The Seekers, so we enjoyed hearing one of his favourite tunes – ‘The Carnival is Over.’
The music the Bishop selected to take on his desert island was enjoyed by all and those who knew the songs sang along. The Bishop said that along with the Bible he would like to take a copy of ‘The Wind in the Willows’, another favourite of his.
This was a charity event organised by the the Makeni Trust, who were raising money to help people rebuild their lives in Sierra Leone after the Ebola virus has been eliminated. The evening was a great success and £1,170 was raised.
A big thank you to Bishop Ralph for taking part.
