On Friday, 1 November, 2019, the St Gerard’s – St Mary’s St Vincent de Paul (SVP) group held their first Autumn Luncheon.

Around thirty members of the local community gathered at The Tabard pub to enjoy a two course lunch together.  This was an event which aimed to get people together, who might otherwise have spent the day alone.  Everyone received a raffle ticket and after lunch the winners were announced!  The lunch was a great success and the group plan to hold more in the future.

One of the main ways the SVP help in the community is by visiting lonely or isolated people, but we heavily rely on referrals from others to let us know where the need is.  We hope our next luncheon will be bigger and better, reaching more people who would benefit.
